In December 2023, Legion partnered with Netflix to support the holiday launch of Leo, the animated feature starring Adam Sandler. The goal was to create a festive, high impact social presence that could cut through the crowded holiday window.
Advent Calendar Grid
To anchor the holiday campaign, we designed a custom Instagram grid that functioned as a digital advent calendar. Using Instagram’s archive feature, content was revealed one piece at a time, day by day, creating anticipation and encouraging repeat visits to the profile.
This approach allowed the grid itself to become part of the storytelling, maintaining visual cohesion while pacing the release of assets throughout the holiday window.





animated character cards
We created a series of animated character cards to introduce the film’s cast in a playful, approachable way. Each piece transitioned from a designed static asset into motion, blending illustration with clip pulls from the film. These assets helped establish character personalities while providing flexible content that worked across multiple social placements.


escape to new york - macys day parade
To capitalize on the film’s presence in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, we developed a playful narrative imagining Leo traveling to New York for the event. The concept was executed through a mix of video and static assets that followed Leo’s journey and tied directly into the real world cultural moment.

This mini campaign reinforced the film’s sense of adventure while extending its visibility beyond traditional promotional beats.




countdowns
Countdown posts were created to build momentum leading into key release moments. These assets maintained a consistent visual system while keeping the campaign timely and top of mind as the premiere approached.

They served as connective tissue between larger creative moments, helping sustain engagement across the launch window.


social videos
The social video package included a mix of short form edits such as a day in the life style asset and premiere coverage content. These pieces added texture and immediacy to the campaign, offering behind the scenes energy alongside polished promotional footage.
Together, they helped humanize the release while reinforcing excitement around the film.


static graphics
Supporting static graphics featured witty on asset copy and playful design moments inspired by travel postcards and adventure themes from the film. These pieces reinforced campaign ideas while providing highly shareable content that complemented the motion assets.
They rounded out the content mix with lightweight, personality driven visuals.
