Season One of Velma launched into an unusually loud and polarized cultural conversation. As a Creative Producer working directly with the internal social team, I supported the development and delivery of organic social assets designed to maintain consistency, professionalism, and brand clarity throughout the season’s rollout.
The focus of the work was steady execution, tonal alignment, and reliable delivery in a high visibility environment. While external response varied widely, the social presence remained intentional, controlled, and aligned with the network’s broader strategy.
Investigation Discovery type promo
As part of the Season One social campaign, we produced a promo styled as an Investigation Discovery commercial reimagined for an animated series. The concept applied the visual language and pacing of true crime television to Velma, creating an unexpected tonal crossover that stood apart from standard animated promos.

I coordinated scene selection, managed the edit through multiple rounds, and worked directly with voice over talent to ensure the final piece felt authentic to the true crime genre while remaining aligned with the show’s creative direction. The result was a distinctive and memorable asset that showcased experimentation within established brand boundaries and remains a project I am especially proud of.

To support character introduction and ongoing engagement, we developed a set of custom illustrated character cards for the main cast. I partnered directly with an illustrator to match the visual style of the series while adapting it for social friendly static formats. These assets helped extend the show’s identity beyond clips by giving each character a distinct, shareable presence within the feed.


gifs
GIFs were created as lightweight, expressive assets designed for everyday social use. I coordinated selection and delivery of moments that translated well into looping formats, ensuring each GIF felt natural, readable, and aligned with the show’s tone. These pieces supported casual engagement while reinforcing character personality and humor.

In addition to motion based content, we produced custom static graphics that recontextualized moments from the series into unexpected formats, such as phone conversations or news stories displayed on a computer screen. I managed concept alignment and production flow to ensure each graphic felt intentional and visually distinct while remaining consistent with the broader social system.

Memes built around direct quotes from the series allowed us to lean into humor and self awareness while maintaining brand control. I supported clip and quote selection and coordinated execution to ensure the final assets felt timely, readable, and true to the show’s voice. These pieces added levity and flexibility to the overall content mix.
