MY STORY

My name is Samantha. I was born in Ohio and am the daughter of two Air Force officers which led me to spend my childhood moving throughout the east coast. I graduated high school in northern Virginia and attended college at the most amazing school in upstate New York called Ithaca College.

At Ithaca, I studied Television and Photography, with a minor in Integrated Marketing communications, and an almost minor in World Religious Studies. While at Ithaca I was given the amazing opportunity to intern with the NBC Agency. The following year, partially due to my mother being born in India, I earned the opportunity to participate in the highly competitive 4A’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program, which allowed me to intern at the agency TBWA\Chiat\Day NY where I helped the print department with various tasks.

Unfortunately, my time in NYC wasn’t enough to convince me not to follow my parents out west after graduation. My father was stationed at Edwards AFB up in the Mojave desert so I escaped to the nearest city I could - Los Angeles.

As I like to say - “Los Angeles did not earn my heart without heartbreak, but this is not just a love affair”. It took me three years to fall in love with this city - to truly understand all of the amazingness it has to offer, but I can honestly say that at this point in time, Los Angeles is home.

After graduation I found myself interning for Disney for a short time before becoming a member of the newly created Davis Elen Digital team in downtown Los Angeles. This ended up being an amazing opportunity for me as I was tasked as the sole project manager/account executive for a pro-bono Hawaiian adventure cruise company’s website and print brochures' redesign, which prepared me for my next role with Saatchi LA.

At Saatchi I helped produce all sorts of digital things from homepage updates, to weekly site maintenance, to Facebook app pages. After a year at Saatchi I was offered an AP position with Sony Pictures Interactive.

My time at Sony Pictures Interactive could not have been more amazing as I not only got to work on a wide variety of projects I also worked with some of the best people in the industry. After a little over a year, I was promoted to Producer.

After Sony I found myself working on Nestle Waters brands at Threshold Interactive. For a year I worked on everything from websites, to sweepstakes and social graphics before once again finding myself home at Sony Pictures, but this time on the client side in television networks.

At Sony Pictures Television I managed the digital footprint for three networks (Sony Movie Channel, Cine Sony, and getTV). In August 2018 we did a fairly successful campaign that managed to promote Walker, Texas Ranger on getTV that was able to increase total viewership by 12% in one month.

In April 2019 after months of studying, I took the test and became PMP (Project Management Professional) certified.

In October 2020 I found myself faced with an amazing opportunity for a contract role at Apple. Working at Apple was a dream come true as I worked with some of the most talented people in the industry.

After Apple I decided to take a full-time role at Home Brew Agency as their Senior Creative Producer working on varying film and television properties.

Home Brew allowed me to explore Social Media assets more and work on some really fun creative. This experience led me to my latest opportunity with Legion Creative.

At Legion I got to produce the award-winning Yellowjackets 360 campaign, along with campaigns for Netflix's Leo and Focus Features' The American Society of Magical Negroes.

I love being a producer because I can’t imagine being any other part of the process. I want to know what is happening for every phase of a project, I want to have an impact and an influence throughout, but most importantly I want to feel that sense of completion that you get from taking an idea and making it a reality. I am a great leader and natural-born public speaker and I honestly love taking an idea, any idea, and creating something that has the power to influence anyone.
