SAATCHI LA

 

Saatchi LA, as many agencies do, does an annual Christmas card activity of some sort that is meant to a.) promote the agency and b.) usually helps raise money for charity. In 2010 the creatives at Saatchi came up with an amazing idea - a living Christmas card, but not just any living website card - an interactive one. 

 

Thus NogPong was born and has continued to be a holiday favorite of Saatchi for the past few years as the project evolves with current technology and trends. 

 

The Saatchi creatives came up with this amazing idea to have a live eggnog pong (beer pong style) game against a real-time web user using a webcam and the amazing talent of the team at DeepLocal to create a robot that the user could control to shoot pong balls. Of course the fun of shooting pong balls at cups using an online robot wouldn’t be complete without the silly gaggle of Saatchi employees who happily volunteered for an hour of their day to be the opposing teammates, aka look silly and drink whatever it is they had in those cups...
